Time is a relative concept, not confined to a linear trajectory, but one that encompasses loops and divergences. Video art, emerging in the 1960s and persisting to this day, thrives on the constant innovation of recording and projection equipment, challenging the possibilities of representing objective reality in various forms. “Events” become malleable materials that can be directly appropriated, and the intervals between events can be either disregarded or accentuated through splicing. Reality itself, aided by the artist’s subjective vision, can grow into a new form of reality. The past can endure in the future, and the future can be glimpsed in the present. The emergence of audiovisual media, akin to a fable-teller, echoes the scientific discourse on time.
