Jean-Michel Basquiat: Royalty, Heroism, and the Streets at Lévy Gorvy

For the new global initiative REVEAL, a project of single-work focused exhibitions, the gallery presents astonishing work by Jean-Michel Basquiat. It’s a bit useless to write about how energetic this work is because I actually don’t remember any calm work by Basquiat. He was all about noise and anger, energy and ambition, movement and power. (Also so many deep and thoughtful books and articles were already written that I feel it’s a bit useless for me to write about Basquiat at all.)
