HKBU AVA MAVA Graduation Exhibition

We observe within happenings, we struggle under acceptances. The reflection of reality brings the shadow of fate, which shapes our feelings and creates paradoxes that we keep on trying to understand. There has been something deep under which pushes us forward. It was undefined, it still is, and probably will be for good. Yet, we are here, seeking for the sense of life, appreciating the power of art, to reach the inner shore.

Registration required.

We are glad to announce that HKBU MAVA Graduation Show 2021 is coming soon.

The global pandemic has brought unprecedented and unpredictable challenges to all in 2020 and 2021, and we find our isolated lives connected with one another's on virtual grids. Scattered in different countries, our learning and exchange have been mediated through many little frames. Through digital screens, we exchange ideas, images and insights; we take inspiration from the unique learning environment. We are thousand miles apart but connected; we are bound by boxes but not limited in experience; we create together, under the uncertainty of the future.

This year, 19 artists from MA in Visual Arts will present in their Graduation Show “On the Grid”. Artists are largely inspired by their own daily life, especially the unique experience under the pandemic during this academic year. Their ideas gradually came into a tangible modality from an original scratch, and constantly collided with new concepts in the continuous reflection, exploration, experiment, comparison and resolution of life.

Venue address: Kai Tak Campus, 51 Kwun Tong Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong (Choi Hung MTR Station Exit A2)
