Starting with a direct reference to the Lost in Translation movie and continuing on the whole concept of a hotel room as a temporary place of residence. In-between, interim, transitional, liminal—all these lovely words focus on the unique nature and state of such places not only for just physical presence but—possibly—of identity. The place which is meant just for a pause in your journey may become a place of unexpected change.
