Jun 23 That artist: Chui Pui Chee

Studio visit

Rather than adding a lot of contemporary elements into traditional Chinese art, Chui Pui Chee is staying within the calligraphy borders, reinventing and modernizing it to express his current contemporary thoughts and feelings. The landscape can be taken from Google maps, the title can refer to social distancing, but the gorgeous pine with millions of needles will be still very much a pine from Northern Song dynasty landscape.
