Bram Bogart: Signs at White Cube

The solid presence of these artworks is so powerful that the question whether they should be seen as paintings or sculptures doesn’t really matter (although it was interesting to learn that there were some debates on that matter). They reminded me in a way of Barnett Newman’s paintings—the pure experience of colour—but adding also the experience of texture, gesture and materiality.
