The exhibition is titled "OLD MASTER Q 'SIDE_C' EXHIBITION / 老夫子 'SIDE C'." Side C refers to Side Cast, Side Character, side role, extra, supporting actor, and more. In the classic "Old Master Q" comic strip, the supporting characters often compete with the three main characters for attention. The world is a stage, and all the men and women are mere actors. The members of Side C strive to play their respective roles well, presenting a great show every day through the "Old Master Q" comic strip that spans six decades under the guidance of two generations of Mr. Wang Ze. Gradually, it is realized that everyone around, including oneself, may be a member of Side C. On the occasion of celebrating the 60th anniversary of Old Master Q, special tribute is paid to these small characters in the comic strip.
About Artist:
Joseph Wong (Wong Chak) and his father Wong Ka Hei are both authors of the Old Master Q comic series. In 1995, Joseph Wong, who was already a professor and architect at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, USA, decided to establish a comic studio and licensing company in Taiwan. He made this decision upon realizing that his father, Wong Ka Hei, was getting older. While nurturing talented individuals in Taiwanese universities, Joseph Wong also took on the responsibility of continuing the creation and publication of the Old Master Q comic series, accompanying generations of readers as they grew up.
