a|n gallery is proud to present “Hong Kong Then and Now - Latest Works by Shen Ping”, our first show in 2023. With a career that spans over five decades, Shen Ping is one of the most widely respected painters and art teachers in HK. We are extremely glad to have Professor Tang Hoi Chiu as the Curatorial Consultant for this important exhibition which includes over 40 paintings in different media, including oil, watercolour, pen sketch, pen drawing as well as ink.

As Professor Tang comments, the works reveal Shen’s passion and dreams for the past and present of this city which we all call home. Whether he is depicting the beautiful Victoria Harbour, food and flower stalls or heritage buildings, Shen imbues his artistic creations with a deep passion for the people and the happenings around them, as well as his sentiments and dreams about Hong Kong.
