Mind(e)scape at Soho House

Mind(e)scape at Soho House

Mind(e)scape is curated as a shelter in the heart of the city for visitors to breathe and heal in the embrace of nature. With Linda Cheung’s photography of dancers and yogis in the city’s own nature as the main thread, this group exhibition tells the story of us

striving as brave, young souls;
struggling at the intersection of reality and dream;
searching for our own truths and
finding solace when we’re eventually able to chart our own paths.

Guided by forces of nature, the five artists’ works explore the liminal space between hurting and healing, now and then, life and death. Through photography, mixed media, music and videography, visitors are invited to a journey to the unexamined territories of their hearts and minds.

Free entry (You don't have to be a Soho House member)

Venue address: Sheung Wan Studio, G/F, 33 Des Voeux Rd W, Sheung Wan

Light Up At Soho House

Light Up At Soho House

  • Hong Kong Hong Kong (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Light Up explores artistic, interactive and colourful representations of light and time in art through a multi-dimensional narrative. As an immersive exhibition with different acts, visitors are encouraged to become a part of the art using their own silhouette. The exhibition helps visitors reflect on a variety of light-related themes with an interdisciplinary collection of works - painting, dance, projection mapping, multimedia installation and more - for an expansive representation of light (and time) as an art form.

In the exhibition we will explore technological mediations of different art forms and invisible nature but deconstructing dualism between human and technology. We are rhizomatic assemblages, multiplicities in symbiotic relationships with things, sharing our common nature like light and sound, as electromagnetic waves that we and our technologies are composed of. Audiences are invited to translate nature, sound, light, textures into things we can feel rather than things we can see (critique of visuality). Let us delve into the observer effect, rediscover "the collapse of the wave function" where electrons exist in an infinite array of possibilities in an invisible field of energy - experience the immersiveness within.

Only when an observer focuses attention an electron appears and manifests in reality - light up your imagination.

Participating Artists & Dancers: Damian Boylan / Igor Chan / Ken Chung Ka-Chun / Fan Yan / L.C.M. / LC Ray  / Paul Shepherd / Michael Whittle / Peggy Ho / Charlene Lwy

Dance Duet 16 Jun / 23 Jun at 7:30pm
